Whale Safari Guides

Whale Safari Guides

Species seen today: Humpback whale, Minke whale, White-beaked dolphin

On our morning tours we found minke whales. Today they were surfacing up only once or twice before going for a dive and moving quite fast. On some of our tours, we were lucky seeing them surfacing closer to the boat, so we had a good look at them. Beside minke whales, we were also watching pods of white-beaked dolphins. There was a pod of around 20 individuals. They had a lot of cute calves and juveniles, even a newborn, with them, so they required bigger distance from us, but we enjoyed watching them, especially few juveniles leaping and jumping above the surface. On all of our morning tours, we also found and enjoyed seeing a humpback whale. It was fluking up regulary while going for a dive, so everyone had a good look at it.

During our 14:00 we managed to find two humpbacks. The first one was travelling really fast and coming up only a couple of times but every time it went for a dive we manage to see its fluke. The second one seemed a bit tired, as it was moving very slowly and taking a long time diving, but once it came up right next to the boat, making everyone shout in admiration.
