10:00 - We started with a quick stop at Engey island where we saw many puffins. We then headed into the bay and before to long we saw a humpback whale that surfaced several times close to the boat and gave us great views and lifted the fluke out when it went down for a dive. There were at least two humpback whales in the area and many gannets diving for fish. Minke whales were also surfacing and we saw three more on the way back so 5/6 in total.

11:00 - This time we headed straight out into the bay, eager to find some whales! Not too long into our search, we saw a large group of birds diving down to the water feeding. This was a great sign that there was lots of food around! We waited nearby, keeping an eye on the water and the fish had attracted 3 minke whales. They were moving under the birds quite quickly, also feeding on the fish. We watched them for a little while and then moved on. Soon we arrived in another area with many many birds. This time it was gannets, diving all around us. After a while we saw the blow of the first humpback whale and soon after realised that there were at least 2 in the area. We were also surrounded by 5+ minkes, surfacing in every direction.

14:00 - The swell had calmed down a little by the afternoon, which made the conditions even nicer than in the morning. As with our morning tours, it didn't take us long to find our first animal. We saw a minke whale surfacing a few times probably still feeding on leftover fish from the morning. After seeing it a few times, it disappeared below the water. We decided to head back to where all the activity was this morning and soon after arriving, we saw a blow of a humpback whale. Other boats started to leave so we stayed with this individual for a while, waiting while it did fairly long dives. However, we weren't bored! There was an interactive minke whale coming close to our boat and another RIB. We also saw a small pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins but they weren't interested in socialising so after seeing them a few times we headed back to the harbour.

Crew: Captain Miquel & Guide Emily

15:00 - After a puffin stop at Akurey we heade straight out in good conditions we soon found a humpback whale and even if the encounter was rather brief we got amazing view of it when it surfaced right next to the boat. We then continued searching and fonund a pod of 4 White-beaked dolphins that approached the boat so we could see them swimming under water and surfacing many times with great views.

Crew: Captain Pedro & Guide Trausti
