Whale Safari Guides

Species seen today: harbour porpoise, white beaked dolphin, humpback whale, Minke whale

Sea conditions were calm and the wind was gentle during our morning tour, a welcome relief after a spell of bad weather out in the Bay! Our passengers were lucky enough to see a humpback whale breach as well as some great Minke whale action. Up until a few weeks ago we hadn´t sighted Minkes, but there seem to be plenty around now. In the afternoon the wind picked up with the sea a little choppier but we were treated to some glimpses of harbour porpoises and feeding Minkes. Another humpback whale was seen breaching! One of our boats also found white beaked dolphins which were breaching and then interacting with a humpback whale, with numerous Minkes sighted on our way back in to Reykjavik harbour. Lots going on out in Faxafloi Bay today!
