10:00 - It was with some swell and heavy clouds that we started our way out of the harbour. One boat navigated closer to the coast and one went directly out on the look for animals. Our boat close to the coast encountered a minke whale ! This animal was very nice, most probably feeding around the area, we saw it coming up without diving for a while and saw it from barely 50 meter away even. Very cool encounter. The second boat that had headed out had found a pod white beaked dolphins at this moment (around 15 individuals) and stayed for a while with them. Then both boats ventured out and found some different pods of white beaked dolphins, 2 pods in 2 separate places for each boat. One pod was of about 2 to 3 individuals and the other of about 5 to 6 individuals. All dolphins exhibited a range of different behavior : feeding, social, elusive and travelling. We got very careful with all of these behaviors and what they meant to be able to leave the area when the dolphins were not in the mood anymore (we are definetely not here to force the sightings !). Everyone had great fun in the tour, seeing all of these animals while we also had high waves, that made the sightings slightly challenging but not impossible.

Today we will sail out at 10:00 but we unfortunately have had to cancel all of our whale watching tours in the afternoon due to high winds at sea.
