Whale Diary

10:00 - In search of whales we went out to the beautiful Hvalfjörður. After we passed a lot of feeding seabirds, we found a humpback whale in the distance. As we got closer, we had a good look at the animal as he went for several shallow and some nice fluke dives with two spectacular peduncle throws as highlights in between. On our way back we enjoyed the ride on the waves and captain Pedro did his best to give us an unforgettable ride  back to Reykjavik.

14:00 - We headed out with light rain, but nice sea conditions. Into Hvalfjörður we quickly found 2 Humpback Whales. One was further away, so we decided to stop with the first one. He came up a few times, always changing directions, but showing us it's beautiful fluke. After a while we decided to leave him alone and go for the other one. This one had the same behavior, which was great to witness. Then suddenly 4 Harbor Porpoises appeared and were racing next to us for a few moments. Really cute ! As always, all good things must come to an end, so we headed back to the harbor with a fun ride and happy guests and crew. :)
