1000 - Great conditions this morning in the bay with a flat mirror like sea and good sunny weather. We first stopped to Engey to see the cute puffins and went further out. In total we probably spotted 4 different minke whales and we saw two of them well. One was surfacing in regular sequences easy to follow, surfacing 3 to 5 times and going for dives in a short range area. We observed it a few times and continued. There was quickly 2 harbour porpoises that appeared and disappeared. Then we saw a minke whale appearing only a few meters from us, the rostrum piercing the surface of the sea and the beautiful animal diving in front of us. During the way back we spotted splashes. We decided to give it a few more minutes and we saw a pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins with a young playful individual that was jumping and showing us so acrobatic skills.

1200 - The sea was extremely calm as we started out sail out in the bay this morning. At first we stopped for a pod of 3 or 4 harbour porpoises ! We got to see them very well and quite close which is extremely unusual for this species. Then we saw a couple of minke whales, these whales were a bit elusive so we continued and saw a pod of 3 white beaked dolphins. These dolphins also passed us by so we continued our trip. We then had the luck to see more minke whales around ! There was 3 or 4 to a bit more through the area. We navigated through these minke whales, having some looks. And to finish our trip we found another pod of white beaked dolphins, of about 5, much more friendly going in the wake of our boat ! So quite a bit of wildlife still in the bay.

14:00 - We saw all four species of cetaceans during this tour. First, we caught quick glimpses of harbour porpoises but they were fast to disappear. Our next stop was with a humpback whale who was traveling quite fast. We got to see the fluke a few times and identified this individual as Black Pearl. On our way back we encountered a pod of white-beaked dolphins and then we even got to see a minke whale feeding among some birds. After these wonderful sightings it was really our time to head back to Reykjavík, accompanied by some more Atlantic puffins on the way home.

16:00- During this tour the weather had changed slightly, there was a bit of wind in the bay. We sailed through areas we had seen animals before and we saw quickly 2 backs of minke whales, quite far in the distance. Then we managed to see one close to the boat, very fast again. We continued and saw a pod of 3 to 5 white beaked dolphins for 2 minutes that then disappeared. After that we continued the trip, searching, but could not find anything more in the bay unfortunately. We still got a glimpse of a few species ! But due to the quality of the sightings, we decided to offer complimentary tickets to our passengers when we arrived to port to give them an opportunity to have hopefully better sightings on a tour with our sister company Elding.

20:00- The wind had calm down again and this ride was as smooth as the morning ride in the bay. We started our trip by a long sail out in the akranes direction looking for wildlife. In the distance we saw a jump, it was some white beaked dolphins ! As we got closer this pod of about 5 dolphins was very playful and was jumping around the boat on both sides for a good 10 minutes, what a treat ! They were tail slapping, jumping, even splashing us as they did. It was lovely. We then continued toward areas with bird life on the look for other species and saw another pod of dolphins, this one of 2 individuals that passed us by very fast. Then we continued and saw ... another pod of dolphins ! This one of about 5 individuals, jumping around the boat again and riding our waves. On our way back we saw another pod of dolphins, of 3 ish individuals. Then we headed back to shore, this tour was definetely a tour for dolphin people like me !
