10:00 - This morning was a special tour. All started with cloud skies but we could still see the sorrounding mountains very well. The first stop was at Akurey to see some atlantic puffins. The island is already full of them and everyone got a very good glimpse of this lovely sea bird. After akurey our search for some wild cetaceans started. The searched didn't took a lot of time until the first whale appeared, and was not a normal appearence, it was hitting the water very hard with the pectoral fins multiple times. We thought couldn't get much better but this whale dived and then breached!! Sometimes breached and sometimes only some part of the body was showned at the surface. Every time we were about to go search for another whale this individual would jump again so we spent almost all the tour with this amazing beast and everyone was very happy about it.

14:00 - On our afternoon tour we started sailing under grey skies. Akurey was our first stop, we stayed there for a good 10 minutes observing the atlantic puffins. We then went out to the open ocean hoping to see some cetaceans. After about 15 minutes we started seeing our first blows and fluke dive, it was a humpback whale. Actually, not just one, we could see several blows and tails going down in different places in this area. We had the chance of observing at least 2 or 3 humpbacks while we went around the blows. We then crossed ways with an individual humpback whale, feeding quite calmly. This animal was followed by a group of arctic terns that would plunge to take the fish from the surface of the water every time the whale would surface. After a good 15 minutes seeing this animal surface close to us and showing its tail while going for deeper dives we then changed area to not stress too much the animal. We moved then to another area where we had the luck of seeing at least 4 more blows, and probably about 4 or 5 tails around. Overall we had the luck of seeing probably around 8 whales in the area. But our time was slowly running out, and it was unfortunately time to go back toward the harbour.
