Whale Diary

10:00 - What an incredible tour, one of the best of the season! We set out full of hope as the weather was looking incredible, with not a single cloud in the sky, and the sun super bright. And a few moments after leaving port, we had the first sighting! A medium group of harbour porpoises, being very displayful and active. They were around 15 of them. Next, we moved on, and we found 6 humpback whales! They were in groups: 3 in one place, 2 in another, and another one on its own. One of them was Neila! In the area we could see as well several minke whales, around 5 of them, cruising around at speed. It was an incredible tour and the passengers were so happy.

13:00 - A brilliant afternoon tour! As in the morning, not long after leaving port we found a nice and playful pod of harbour porpoises, maybe 10 of them. We moved on after a little bit with them, and we found 4 humpback whales. They were in groups of 2, separated by some distance. We spent some time with each group, and the passengers enjoyed very much the company of these great whales, as they dived and surfaced repeatedly, and delighted us with their blows and fluke dives. There were also 4 minke whales in the area. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and it was full of sea birds, giving the tour a truly beautiful setting.
