Species seen today: Humpback whale, Harbour porpoise

Today the conditions started out amazing! Hardly any wind or swell made for great whale watching conditions. Over the course of the day, the wind gradually picked up making the later tours a bit bouncier but nothing our captains couldn't handle. In every tour today, we saw multiple humpback whales! In the morning tours we saw 4 individuals, of which 2 were slowly travelling one next to each other. One was quite smaller individual and the other a full grown adult, very close and surfacing synchronized so they might be related (mum and her juvenile). On our midday tours, we saw 2 humpbacks, one was very relaxed and a little curious, surfacing quite close to our boats multiple times. The other was very actively feeding and using bubbles to confuse the fish underwater. This afternoon, it started to rain but our passengers were rewarded for braving the Icelandic weather with 5-6 humpback whales! Each showing us different behaviours. We saw feeding, resting, tail slapping and breaching all in one tour!
