Birds seen today: Atlantic puffin, Arctic tern, northern fulmar, black-legged kittiwake, herring gull, manx shearwater, sooty shearwater, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, common guillemot, black guillemot, northern gannet, storm petrel

10:00 - It was a rainy day, but we had no wind and no waves, it was flat as a table! We stopped at Akurey to check on the puffins and then we went in search of something bigger than a puffin! We sailed quite far but we found a pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins. They were fun and came to check us out! Outstanding sighting! We then worked our way to a place with lots of bird activity and there we spotted 3 minke whales feeding quite quickly! It was raining quite a lot so we started to head back to the harbour to keep up with the schedule!

14:00 - We left under the rain and went to Engey to find little puffins. Then we left further out and slowly got rid of the rain! We first spotted 2-3 harbour porpoises that quickly disappeared. From that area we spotted dorsal fins in the distance and got closer to what was an amazing friendly pod of 8 white-beaked dolphins. There was several calves in the group that were in a playful mood, coming close to us under the boat and on our side doing small jumps and slapping the water with their head. We stayed with them a good amount of time and continued further out. We stopped when we found a pod of 4 harbour porpoises that were so nice and easy to observe which is rare for those small cetaceans. We went even more west to see a minke whale. That minke was a bit hard to observe we could see its dorsal fin breaking the flat surface of the sea a few times. We went back, quickly stopped for another pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins, and went back to the harbour on amazing sea conditions.

16:00 - We got out in a bit of rain that soon disappeared. Without any wind or waves, we sailed into the bay, with a first stop at Engey to check on the mighty puffins nesting. We then went further into the bay and soon we stumbled upon a pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins that were kinda fun with us but also shy, so we left them and went on to search for something else! We stopped at several flocks of birds but without success in finding more cetaceans. The time was over eventually and we had to get back to the harbour. We offered complimentary tickets because the sightings weren't good enough, so our passengers will have another chance on seeing a whale in Iceland!

20:00 - The weather was perfect, with no wind, rain, or waves! We went to Akurey to check out the cute puffins and then sailed out in search of life in the bay. We had a glimpse of a minke whale after 20 minutes sailing by but only popped twice and that was it. We went further than ever to search for a big whale that we haven't seen in 2 days but had no success on that. We started to scan the area a bit more and we found 2 minke whales feeding on fish close to the surface, one of them was really big and could even hear their breath! Soon enough we found a pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins that were quite playful with the boat, one of them did so many tail slaps that we lost count, and lots of noise too! They jumped all over the place and came to touching distance from us! Amazing dolphins! We then got back to the harbour with the golden hour on our backs. The captain stopped the boat so we could enjoy it and take that nice picture! A really good evening tour!
