Whale Diary

11:00 - Our first tours of the 2025 summer season! The wind and waves had calmed down so that we could head out and search for some cetaceans. We went out on 2 boats and spread out to cover more areas. We saw lots of bird life which made us hopeful for some whales and dolphins but unfortunately, we were unlucky this morning. As we didn't see any cetaceans, all our passengers were offered complimentary tickets to come back on one of our Classic tours for free. Despite this, we still had a lot of fun cruising around the bay and seeing the first puffins of the season arriving back before the breeding season begins!

14:00 - Our afternoon started with sunny skies, we headed out to the bay searching for adventure. We started by sailing north in the direction of Akranes looking for wildlife. The wind started to pick up making our journey a rollercoaster ride. We spotted briefly a harbour porpoise but this species is known for being shy so we carried on with our trip. We were able to see some Atlantic puffins flying around in the bay with their colorful bills but unfortunately we couldn't spot any more cetacean species. We then started our journey back to Reykjavik and decided to give our costumers another shot, so we gave them complimentary tickets to try again another day!
