00 - The seas were a bit choppy this morning and A light drizzle fell upon us. Luckily, the drizzled cleared after some time and shortly after that we spotted our first whales as well. We first spotted a humpback whale, going on relatively long dives, but each time with the fluke nice and high. We then moved to a second humpback, this one was joined by a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins, including 3 calves! They were all playing around together and in their shenanigans they surfaced incredibly close to us! After this, 2 massive blows in the distance caught our attention. As we got closer, we realised they belonged to 2 fin whales! These 2 enormous whales were very busy feeding and we even saw one lunge-feed! This incredible and rare encounter ended our tour and so we sailed back to Reykjavik.

00 - Today we sailed out into a little bit of chop though the further we got the calmer it also got. After a quick sail we spotted a huge blow on the horizon - ´twas a fin whale!! This is rare and special sighting as we dont see them regularly. These animals are huge and can grow up to 26m! It was a fantastic sighting as we also 5 white beaked dolphins swimming along side it which meant we could see the vast size difference between the two. This fin had quite some speed on it and after we had been with it for some time we headed further into the bay. We spotted 2 minke whales, which again looked tiny in comparison to the large whale prior. Not too long after that we spotted another blow, this time belonging to a humpback whale! This whale was feeding and came extremely close to us, and even fluked 3 times showing off its pristine white tail fin. We stayed as long as we could, eventually heading back and stopping at Akurey for puffins and underneath Harpa on the way back!

00 - The sea had calmed down a lot since the morning, with a few swells here and there as we made our way to our first stop, the puffin island Akurey! There, we watched our feathered friends soar through the sky before we made our way out into the sea in search of something bigger. We heard rumours about whales being spotted in a specific area, so we headed there first. Low and behold, we were greeted by two fin whales! The second largest animal on the planet. They were the same ones we had been watching this morning, and were accompanied by a small pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins! We watched in awe as the two species moved through the bay with such effortless grace, and the power of their blows almost echoed throughout the bay. After enjoying the company of the fin whales and the dolphins, it was time to head back to the harbour, but not without saying hello to the more common species in the bay, a lone humpback whale and a minke whale in the same area! We ended the tour with a beautiful fluke dive from the humpback, almost as if it was waving us goodbye. It's safe to say we returned to land with memories that will last a lifetime. What a fantastic day so far!

00 - This afternoon was a true adventure, we set sail into the unknown with slightly grey skies. After short sail we spotted a blow - a humpback whale blow! This was a feeding individual, quite quick to travel. We watched it for a little bit and while we were also saw 3 minke whales in the area as well. We eventually moved on and spotted even larger blows on the horizon! As we were making out way over, we saw 4 more minkes and could smell them too! And then again, two large blows - there were 2 fin whales! What magnificent creatures. They were huge and swimming so closely to us, it felt like their backs were never ending. They swam incredibly close to us and when we knew we wouldn't get a better encounter we decided to head on. We sailed further and then came to an area with 4-6 more humpback whales! They were coming up in each direction, and always showing the fluke! Once again we were spoilt as one came up directly next to us. The sun had now come out and it felt like a real summers day! On the way home we made a quick puffin stop before eventually heading back to harbour.

00 - What an unforgettable evening on the water! We set out at 8 pm, just as the sun dipped low and painted the sky in a blaze of gold and rose. The ocean was glassy and calm, glowing silver under the last light of day, making every ripple shimmer like magic. Our first encounter came quickly—two sleek minke whales gliding effortlessly through the twilight sea. But the real highlight was yet to come: six magnificent humpback whales appeared one after another, their blows rising like misty fountains in the still air. Three of them lingered with us for what felt like forever, circling the boat, surfacing close enough that we could hear their powerful breaths, sharing the calm, glowing evening as if time had paused just for us.
