10:00 - This morning we sailed out with beautiful sunny skies and calm seas to a great adventure! It took us about 30 minutes to see our first blow in the distance! As we got closer we saw our first humpback whale! It dove slowly showing its fluke multiple times and keeping a fast traveling passe going west. As more boats arrived we decided to have a look around the area, and we heard the news of another humpback whale close by. We went to have a look and once more the whale was very calm and let us approach it carefully coming very close to our boat! As time went on we decided it was time to return to the harbour but we still had some time to check out Akurey and see some very cute puffins flying around!
14:00 - We were heading out with beautiful weather and nice sea conditions. We had to sail out quite far and then we spotted a pod of 8 white-beaked dolphins, with 2 calves with them. They were playing and swimming around out boat, for quite a while, but them we left them to go look for something else. Next thing we found was a Humpback Whale. It was surfacing quite often and also showing us it's fluke. Unfortunately all good things come to an end, so we had to sail back to the harbor, but with happy guests and happy crew. :)
Crew: Captain Pedro & Guide Kylie, Captain Gunni & Guide Maria
20:00 - We went out in the bay with good seas and nice sun colors. We first made a stop to see some puffins and then we headed out far in the bay toward areas where we had seen whales today. After a nice ride we saw our first blow, as we got closer we realized it was a humpback whale. The animal stayed at the surface for while so we could observe it very well. After some time with this one, we explored a bit more and found a pod of about 5 white beaked dolphins, they swam with us for a bit and changed direction so we decided to head off toward another blow. There we saw not one blow, but 2 blows, and it was 2 humpback whales together. We even saw some feeding behavior, nice vertical feeding from a whale. After this amazing sight we had to start heading back to shore, but what a nice trip to end the day.
