Species seen today: minke whale, humpback whale, white-beaked dolphins

Beautiful conditions in the bay today with very flat seas and overcast skies meaning that we were very confident of seeing wildlife, providing it was present. Luckily for us, Faxafloi was teaming with life as multiple minke whales, humpback whales and white-beaked dolphin pods were spotted throughout the day. A very special nursery pod of dolphins made their way through the area in morning which consisted of 4 mother and calf pairs. Wherever we stopped and searched minke whales often surfaced beneath birds, indicating that the minkes were feeding. In total, 3 humpbacks were spotted, separated into a group of two and one solo. The two were very relaxed performing many breaths at the surface and after a short time we headed towards the third and final humpback who was feeding and showing more energetic behaviours.
