Species seen today: humpback whale, minke whale

Conditons this morning were a bit blowy and choppy as we headed out in to the Bay, and a worsening forecast forced us to cancel our later trips. Regardless, despite a swell running our boats were lucky enough to get sightings of humpback whales, with some fluke action as the humpbacks went diving. One of the boats also had a few good sightings of minke whales and on a few occasions, we could smell the blow of our beloved ´stinky minkes´! Our next boat out also enjoyed the sight of minkes and humpbacks in the vicinity and at times it was hard to know where to look. There was lots of good food out in Faxafloi Bay, attracting whales and also plenty of seabirds, including our favourite Atlantic puffins.
