Whale Diary

09:00 - Excellent start of the day! We set out in great weather, and headed straight out. Twenty minutes after leaving, we came across the great whales! In the same area we found 3 humpback whales, and a little bit further, another one, making a total of 4 individuals. Two of them were traveling together, which delighted everyone. In the area there was 1 minke whale as well, and a small group of harbour porpoises, around 5 individuals.

10:00 - The weather was good and the sea calm. We didn't have to go far, when we spotted Davy Jones the Humpback Whale. We watched him for a while and then something magical happened. A rainbow appeared! What a sight! After a while we decided to leave him be and went on. Soon we found 2 Humpbacks traveling together and they gifted us with synchronised fluke divings! We were curious, if there is more for us to see, so we kept on going. Nature didn't disappoint, we were provided with 3 !! Humpbacks traveling together! They also showed us their beautiful flukes and so we could go back with happy guests and a happy crew! :)

12:00 - Another great tour! We went straight out to where we had last been with the great whales in the morning. It took us a little longer to find them, as they had moved South some distance, but eventually we saw the distinctive blows! We went their way and there they were, 2 of the humpback whales we had seen in the morning. We stayed with them for some time, and they gave us several fluke dives. Eventually we moved away, and a little ways North, we found Davy Jones, making a total count of 3 humpbacks. It gave us a nice fluke dive in the way of a good-bye, and it was time to head port.

15:00 - An excellent finish to a great day. It was windier than in the previous tours, but that did not stop us from finding the pair of humpback whales that we had spotted earlier. Total count 2 individuals. We found them a bit further out, but on the plus side, they were now spending more time on the surface than they had earlier. We were also the only boat in the area, which made the whole experience a lot more private. After some time, we headed home with happy passengers.
