Species seen today: Humpback whale

Birds seen today: Common eider duck, Arctic tern, Northern fulmar, Northern gannet, Atlantic puffin, common raven, black-legged kittiwake, European shag, herring gull, greater and lesser black-backed gull, black guillemot, common gull

Our Whale Watching Tours at 10:00 is ON SCHEDULE! Unfortunately the remainder of our tours at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 & 20:00 have been cancelled due to weather.

Monday, June 29th, 2026

10:00 - This morning we started our tour sailing into the bay with a bit of wind and some swell. As we were getting further away from the harbour the swell was increasing a bit more than expected but we talked with our passengers and decided to give it a go. Another boat told us they spotted a whale a bit further away so we slowly sailed to the area. As we got closer we could see a blow of a humpback whale! Then we noticed there were in fact 2 individuals in the area. Then a big surprise, one of the whales breached twice and we could see the whole body while it jumped out of the water! We stayed with this whale for a while watching it dive multiple times, but as time was running out we decided to start our journey back. On the way to the harbour we still had some time to stop by Engey to see some cute puffins!
