Birds seen today: Atlantic puffin, fulmar, cormorant, black-legged kittiwake, herring gull, manx shearwater, iceland gull, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, razorbill, common guillemot, black guillemot

10:00 - The conditions were perfect as we headed out to the open sea, there was no wind, and only the sun was missing. We first saw some white beaked dolphins, at least the guides and captains have noticed the pod of about 5 individuals that disappeared as fast as they appeared letting no passenger notice them. So we continued toward an area where we noticed a minke whale, the animal was quite elusive so we moved toward another area where we had a humpback whale ! This humpback whale was one we know as Aang, that has been around the bay for a few weeks. We saw it a few times breathing and showing the tail as it went dosn for deeper down. But the animal was going quite fast around so we at some point decided to take a circle to look for other animals. We came back to an area with bird and noticed more minke whales, about 4 or 5 time quite close to us, and in the minke whale patch we also saw a special guest : a juvenile harbour seal ! It is pupping season for the harbour seals at the moment so a lot of babies can be spotted going around the bay, learning life. After this, it was time to head back toward the harbour.

12:00 - The tour started with the cute puffins jumping on the rocks and swimming in the oceans. After the puffins we started to search for the cetacens. The whales were shy and quite difficult to find but the dolphins were very playfull with the boat. This pod of white beaked dolphins were jumping with the boat and we could almost touch them from the boat. They were riding the waves created by the boat and having a lot of fun. Some minke whales in the distance were approaching us and we could see very well the fins of this individuals. The humpbacks didn't show up today but dolphins made the tour.

14:00 - Today the sea was quite flat but the air was very cold as we navigated around the bay. After some time we got to an area where we saw a minke whale we know as Humpie ! We saw it coming up only once. Because this animal did not really want to be seen we decided to continue to look for other animals. We then saw a pod of white beaked dolphins, there was about 4 of them coming to bow ride and that even treated us with some very cool jumps ! Dolphins are always the best especially when they are social like this and playing in the wake of the boat. We then moved back toward the area where we had the minke whale and we saw 2 to 3 more minke whales travelling  around, humpie being one of them again, and we could get some better looks before coming back toward the harbour.

Crew: Captain Daniel & Guide Mélanie

16:00 - Since in the morning we didn't found the humpback whales we went further away to try to find it. We did a big lap around the bay and after some time we finally found it. This humpback was moving a lot and appearing almost always in a different place. There was a lot of different birds in the area so most likely everyone was trying to have lunch. After following this animal and seeing only some dives in the distance finally appeared very close to the boat. All the passengers could see this beast just a few meters from the boat doing a couple of breaths and then going for a deep dive showing his beautifull fluke. The best way possible to finish the tour.

20:00 - The midnight sun continues shinning and was a very beautifull sunset in the horizon during the tour today. This was a more difficult tour because the animals didn't want to join us today. We spent the entire tour search for the animals until the last minute but unfortunately they were enjoying their time underwater. Because the animals were more shy today we decided to give complimentary tickets to the passengers for them to have the chance to enjoy another tour for free on the classic whale watching.
