10:00 - Beautiful sunny day this morning in Reykjavik, but also cold with only 3 degrees when the sun rose. We went out trying to find cetaceans. The sea was good until after Akrafjall, then it got choppier. We had a small pod of 2-3 white-beaked dophins coming around the boat and surfing in our waves, bow riding being playful and curious. It was very nice but they quickly switched to another activity. In the same area 2 harbour porpoises showed themselves a couple of times. We looked everywhere around in the areas where minke whales were seen yesterday but no luck. In the distance we saw a splash made by a jumping dolphin so we went there and found 9-10 white-beaked dolphins divided in 3 small groups. We observed them well for a while until we decided to move to another area closer to land with better sea condition. We spotted from far a minke whale but unfortunately we could no find it again. We were out of time so we went back home.

14:00 -  Back again on the sea, this time we went further north to go in the same way than the waves and have a smoother tour. A passenger spotted something so we stopped but as nothing appeared we kept going. We had a sighting with a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins. We could see them shortly from close because afterwards they were travelling fast and a bit difficult to observe. We still could watch them for a while before checking more areas. We did not see much more so we started heading back when another boat non far spotted a blow. We went there and after a bit of patience we saw the blow and the back of a minke whale. The animal went for a dive and even if we gave it a few more minutes we could not find it again so we went back to the harbour, always under a shiny sun.
