12:00 - We headed out this morning under sunny skies with a bit of wind, making for a beautiful start to the trip. After a long search, we were finally rewarded with the unmistakable blow of a humpback whale. This individual was traveling quickly, but we still managed to enjoy several great sightings as it surfaced, including a few beautiful views of its fluke before it disappeared beneath the waves. We then continued to another area, where we were lucky enough to find a second humpback whale. This individual was surfacing very frequently, giving us incredible, prolonged views and allowing everyone on board to truly appreciate this magnificent animal. To finish the tour, we encountered a single white-beaked dolphin in the same area. We also spotted some plastic trash floating in the ocean and took the opportunity to remove it from the water. As we were retrieving the debris, the curious dolphin came over to investigate, swimming close to the boat and giving us a memorable final wildlife encounter while reminding us of the importance of keeping our oceans clean. Overall, it was a rewarding tour with two wonderful humpback whale encounters, a curious white-beaked dolphin, and a small but meaningful effort to help protect the marine environment.
