Whale Diary

11:00 - There was a low wind in the bay today, and despite a bit of rain we had great conditions for whale-watching. At first we spotted a minke whale, who came up to breathe a few times so we could catch a glimpse of it. When the minke had been under for some time, we continued further into the bay and came across a pod of 6 dolphins. We joined the other Thruma, who had found a superpod of white-beaked dolphins. There were probably around 100 individuals in the area - some close, some jumping in the distance, some even bowriding! It was spectacular to see so many dolphins swimming around us and treating us to an incredible show.

14:00 - The weather was a little rainy in the beginning of the tour, but that didn't bother our passengers, we headed out into the bay, because we had a feeling we would find something big. Our feeling didn't disappoint us, we found 2 Humpback Whales, which were feeding. Accompanied with lots of birds all around them and also minimum 3 Minke Whales around which were also feed on the fish. The time flew as we were in awe, watching these majestic big creatures. After a while we had to head back to harbor, since it was the end of the tour. Everyone, including the crew, left with a smile on their face. It was a great tour !
