10:00 - We had a wonderful morning on the water with many different sightings of humpback whales and a minke whale. First, we followed two seperate individual humpback whales who were surfacing a bit unpredictably, and in the end we found a pair of humpback whales who came up a bit more regularly and showed their flukes really high above the surface. On the way back, Thruma II also caught a quick glimpse at a minke whale from up close. A beautiful day!

14:00 - The wind calmed down and the sun was shining brightly over the bay this afternoon. There were humpback whales everywhere - over the radio we could hear captains all around the bay calling in sightings. We saw three different individuals during our tour: the first one surfacing unpredictably, the second one feeding, and the third one staying very calmly at the surface. All of the humpback whales gave us a nice show with occassional flukes and sometimes coming close to the boat. The last one gave us the best view of a spectacular fluke as the final goodbye before we headed to Reykjavík
