09:00 - We headed out into the crisp morning air, with the sun shining bright, but a big swell ahead. We braced ourselves for the wind and the spray from the waves, and headed out, staying close to the coast, where it was a bit more sheltered. We headed into Hvalfjörður (Whale Fjord), where conditions were a bit more favourable, hoping to spot the blow of a whale. As we kept an eye out for wildlife, we also admired the scenery around, amazed by the gorgeous Esja and Akrafjall sheltering us from either side. We also admired some of the beautiful waterfalls leading into the fjord, as well as the bird life around us, with some very curious cormorants giving us nice close fly-bys and a large flock of common eider duck taking off nearby. We then began making our way back, and circled around Lundey, one of the islands near the harbour, admiring the seabirds, before we headed back to the harbour. As we didn't get to see any cetaceans on this tour, we offered our lovely guests complimentary tickets so that they may try their luck again another day.
