20:00 - We set out in search of some activity in the bay, it is the first and only whale-watching tour of the day so we had to find the whales somewhere. First, a stop by one of the puffin islands to see how cute they are and then to Faxaflói we went! We had a nice sunset and almost no waves close to shore but we quickly felt the swell coming up once we headed out even further. After a few minutes of bumps, we saw a little splash in front of us, it was a harbour porpoise swimming away from us! A very small cetacean, but we proceeded with the search. After 10 more minutes, we saw a pod of 4 to 5 white-beaked dolphins that played with the boat for a while and then a harbour seal popped up right next to us! What a find! We went a bit further out to search for an area where we'd been seeing whales for the past few days but we saw nothing. We scanned a bit more around but we only found the same pod of dolphins that we previously had. They of course played a bit more with us but the time was over and the beautiful sun was setting and so we got back to the harbour. We offered complementary tickets so that our passengers could try another time to see some whales.
