12:00 - We went out on this sunny day. Do not get tricked by the nice weather in the harbour! Conditions can be much different in the bay, so we got ready with many layers and our warm overalls. There was as expected wind and waves but our captain managed to keep us dry. We went in a first area and we were not very successful so we kept going to another one further away were we saw a lot of birds. We approached and observed hundreds of northern gannets plunge-diving. In that area we also saw 3-4 white-beaked dolphins. They were likely feeding, swimming fast doing small jumps allowing them to get more speed and sometimes maybe a bit curious about us coming under the boat and close to us. We explored the area but we could not find anything more so we went back to the harbour. We gave complimentary tickets to our passengers.

14:00 - We had a window of nice weather ahead so we took that opportunity and went out! Our journey started with a bit of swell that increased a bit more as we got further away from the harbour but it was still good enough for us to continue. After about half an hour of surfing the waves, we had a first glimpse of 2 harbour porpoises that were too quick for everybody to see. We continued our journey and a few minutes later another glimpse, this time a minke whale that was also too quick for the passenger's eyes. Carrying on we saw another 2 minke whales, this time it was so close we could see the whole whale coming up for air, we could hear it and even see the double blow hole!! One of them came up for air 6 times (an amazing amount of times for a minke whale) and was always 10 meters away from us! We were so lucky to find these cetaceans but the time was over and the weather was getting worse, so we started to head back to Reykjavík still with some sun over our heads and to finish the captain showed us what he could do with the boat by performing some fresh doughnuts!
