12:00 - We headed out into a cold and windy bay bundled up in our cozy overalls ready to see what this tour would bring us. First, we stopped to look around in an area where we had known the whales to be in prior to the tour, and after orienting ourselves, we spotted two blows a few kilometers ahead! When we arrived, we were greeted by two humpback whales, affectionately known as Banana and Split. The two were spending time together, diving, and moving around likely in search of food. After we admired them for some time, we went around the islands and stopped by Lundey to look for seals. We did not see any seals, so we began making our way back to harbour. As we neared the port after a splashy ride back, a minke whale made a surprise appearance! This minke was also feeding, and we got many good looks at its back which glistened under the sun. We returned to land happy (and slightly soaked) from this wonderful afternoon tour!
