10:00 - We headed out of the harbor with a fresh breeze of icelandic air and a little wavy sea. Surprisingly we found a minke whale in the first 5 minutes of the tour. We stayed with it for a while, because it was curiously circling our boat. Then it disappeared and we went further out into the bay. We needed a little time, before we found not 1 but 4 humpback whales together ! They were calmly traveling alongside each other and taking short dives, where they showed us their beautiful flukes. A minke whale also stopped by for a one time show off and then disappeared again. Davy Jones II. was also one of them. He's quite a celebrity here in Faxafloi Bay and he didn't disappoint this time either. "Performing" is his trade mark, he displayed a peduncle throw out of nowhere, which was awesome to see !! :) But all good things must come to an end, so we had to leave these 4 humpbacks and started our way back to the harbor. Happy and in awe.
