Birds seen today: Black-backed gull, herring gull, greylag goose, black-legged kittiwake, northern fulmar, northern gannet, Atlantic puffin, common guillemot, purple sandpiper, sooty shearwater, manx shearwater.

00 - Good conditions today in the bay with nice weather, a lot of sun and not too much wind. It was getting choppier once we reached areas further than Akranes. We first crossed 2 harbour porpoises that quickly immediatly disappeared. We kept going until we reached an area far away with so many northern gannets plunge-diving it was very impressive. We went slowly and spotted a minke whale that was unfortunately not easy to observe. We looked around but after a while we decided to go to calmer water try and see more cetaceans. It was a good choice, we spotted a group of 15 white-beaked dolphins, that were divided in two pods. They came close to the boat and under, quite friendly and easy to observe. We stayed with them until we had to head back, during which we crossed atr least 2 more minke whales. We stopped for the second one and could see it coming back 5 times so we could have a good look at it before heading back to the harbour.

00 - The wind has calmed down as we started our sail in the bay. First we encountered some minke whales we got to see 2 of them but still with some distance. After some time we decided to continue to search a bit more the area, we then came across another minke whale, this one we got to approach and got some great looks on its whole body, it looked like a big individual of probably between 8 to 10 meters long. We then continued and came accross a pod of 10 + white beaked dolphins ! The pod was quite scattered in the area, most probably feeding, but we got some great looks with some individuals bow riding and coming up very close to us. We continued with the dolphins for a while and then started to head home. On our way home we got a fast glimpse on 2 more minkes and then made it back to port.

00 - Conditions improved with calmer sea this afternoon. During the tour we saw 4-5 minke whales, sometimes from very close. There was a nice area with birds, northern gannets plunge-diving and three of those minke whales feeding. We stayed there moving very slowly or even stopping the boat and our patience paid. Minke whales were frequently surfacing sometimes far but also a sometimes very close, so we could hear there blow and see there pointy rostrum come out of the water. We also saw 2-3 harbour porpoises but as often aver a few times at the surface they disappeared. Meanwhile looking a minke whale a harbour seal appeared none far from us, spy-hoping, maybe curious about our presence. It was very pleasant to be on the boat outside on such a sunny day, and the way back to the harbour was very smooth.

00 - The wind picked up a bit but the waves were still little and the sailing pleasant. We went in similar areas but the minke whales were hard to find this time. We saw 2 minke whales that did not want to show themselves again. The highlight was a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins coming towards the boat and doing a few jumps. We also found an area with many northern gannets, some of them plunge-diving, but no cetacean in the area. We also had a very quick sighting of a harbour seal! We went back and gave complimentary tickets to our passengers.
