Species seen today: minke whales, white-beaked dolphins

This morning was still windy but conditions had improved enough from yesterday that we could go whale watching! We went out on two boats on the 10:00 tour and headed in different directions to cover as much of the bay as possible. One boat went north and managed to spot a few minke whales swimming through the waves and feeding beneath some birds and also a pair of white-beaked dolphins. The dolphins got very curious of our boat and came right up next to us a couple of times to get good look. The other boat headed south and unfortunately didn't find any animals so passengers on this boat received complimentary tickets to come whale watching another time in the future. As the day continued, the wind increased however so we had to cancel the rest of our tours for the day. The forecast looks better for tomorrow so we hope to welcome you on board soon!
