Species seen today: Harbour porpoise, White-beaked dolphin, Minke whale, Humpback whale

Birds seen today: Northern gannet, Great cormorant, Arctic tern, Herring gull, Black-headed gull, Atlantic puffin, Great black-backed gull, Eider duck, Black guillemot, Common guillemot

10:00 - We had a wonderful tour with a great start of curious white-beaked dolphins. The other Thruma RIB in the meantime caught a glimpse of a pod of harbour porpoises. A quick minke whale popped up, but we wanted to continue to an area where a humpback whale had been sighted. The crew was very happy to see that this whale was Neila, a female humpback whale that we have been seeing for the past three years. After seeing the fluke go down a few times, we sailed back to Reykjavík to make a quick stop by the puffin island of Akurey to enjoy the small black-and white birds from up close.
