12:00 - We are lost for words trying to describe this tour because it was absolutely INCREDIBLE and possibly one of the best tours we have ever done. We headed off in rainy weather and bumpy seas. After a while we spotted big spouts in the distance. As we approached, 2 humpback whales appeared and showed off their beautiful tail flukes. There were 2 more in the distance, where one of them was doing tail throws time after time. One of them joined the first pair and they all joined in a feeding frenzy with repetitive bubble net feeding! The action happened left and right and had me (the guide) screaming of excitement time after time. An absolutely awesome experience! We carried on our journey and went to the one tail slapping. It had joined another individual and it continued to do tail throws in close proximity to our boat. What a beautiful encounter! After this, the tour carried on further out, but it did not take long until more humpback whales turned up. We had 3 individuals doing bubble net feeding, then a forth one joined. We saw bubbles coming up to the surface right next to our boat, and we started to pay attention to the area. Sure enough, the feeding event happened right next to us, where four big mouths came directly to our left. We were too stunned to say anything at this point. Birds were flying in big flocks everywhere, creating a beautiful scenery. Three other ones kept going on a bit further away. Everywhere we looked, there was action. We saw many more spouts and fins in the distance. During the tour we also had about 3 minke whales passing by. After an experience that felt national geographic-worthy, we headed back to the harbour. This tour easily gets 12/10. Magnificent!
