15:00 - After a windy morning we were very happy to see that the weather calmed down in the afternoon, allowing us to go out on our 15:00 tour. We hopped into our layers, goggles and overalls, ready to stay nice and warm even if the rainy skies decided to return. We had some rain clouds over us at the beginning of the tour, but the further out into the bay we went, the nicer the skies became. After passing by Grótta lighthouse, a pod of 2 harbour porpoises briefly appeared. We stopped to see them surface a couple of more times before continuing to sail further. Excitingly, we started to notice a couple of sporadic blows in the distance. We sped up a little, but were stopped on the way by more porpoises! This was a pod of 3-4, and luckily they surfaced very close several times. We admired the cute little whales for a bit longer, but then continued over to the blows which were not too far away. When we arrived, we discovered that it was 2 humpback whales. The pair was very calm, seemingly resting up a bit together and doing some shallow diving. We were able to stay for quite some time, admiring their size and beauty from up close, so close we could even smell their stinky breath at times! As we watched the humpbacks, more porpoises appeared around us, this was another pod of 4, with some surfacing just by our side. On our return, we spotted 2 more porpoises briefly as we were sailing full speed. What a fantastic tour this was, with our smallest and largest main species spotted!
