20:00 - Today was our first evening tour of this year's season, and we were very happy to have started with really calm sea conditions. We ventured into Faxaflói bay with a first stop by Akurey island, where we saw hundreds of puffins, as well as fulmar, shags, kittiwakes and many other cool birds. Soon after leaving Akurey, we had a sighting of three harbour porpoises feeding and being quite at will with our presence. After a nice time with these cute little guys, we continued sailing deeper into the bay. We then arrived at an area full of feeding birds and a minke whale, who was almost the size of our boat. We then spent quite a good part of the remaining tour looking for more sightings and, almost at the end of the tour, we managed to find a pod of eight curious white-beaked dolphins, who approached our boat a couple times, leaving of our passengers thrilled. All in all, a very good start for our evening tours.
