12:00 - With great weather and close to perfect sea, we headed out into the bay, unexpecting the great tour that was going to happen. Off the bat, after sailing for 20 minutes, we started seeing more and more birds, and spotting our first minke whales. As dorsal fins came up and down, we then encountered a group of 5 humpback whales, as we saw one of them breach meters away from us ! Altogether, surrounded by minke whales, this group kept on bubble netting and lunge feeding, with one particular individual leading the group activities and one juvenile trying to keep up the pace. Further away, more minke whales and another group of 4 whales were doing all the same. As we exchanged between groups and saw the whales roam around and change their positions as well, we even passed by a pod of 4 white beaked dolphins. In our last minutes, enjoying more lunge feeding from these humpbacks, we noticed our 4th main specie, 5 harbor porpoises calmly passing next to us, luckily close enough for all to see. With 8 humpback whales, more than 10 minkes, seeing all our main species and plenty of feeding, it really was one of the best tours of the last months.
