Whale Diary

15:00 - The wind and weather conditions in general had improved a bit so we decided to go out and try our luck. We searched far and wide, going as far as Akranes to the North, then turning back South in a circle. Unfortunately, despite covering a very big area, we coulfd not find any cetaceans. We gave out complimentary tickets to come again.

16:00 - Conditions were challenging when we headed out with significant wind and whitecaps. We headed towards the coast and swept around the bay, stopping at times to admire the excellent visibility whilst searching hard for any wildlife. Miquel and I caught a couple of very brief glimpses of white-beaked dolphins that rapidly disappeared and weren't seen by our guests. There were hundreds of fulmars out in the bay plus lots of Manx and sooty shearwaters. We looked very hard but despite our best efforts, we weren´t able to find anything so gave out complimentary tickets for a return trip on the Elding boats.
