Species seen today: harbour porpoise, white-beaked dolphin, minke whale

Today we had very calm sea in the area closer to the shore and choppy sea further out, quite similar to conditions yesterday. On one of our boats the crew spotted signs of 2 individuals of minke whales. After the wait, despite all of our efforts and patience, we haven't seen the animals themselves. We continued our search and were blessed with an encounter with a group of playfull white-beake ddolphins. They were jumping in front of us and we had a very nice time observing them. On our other boat, the day started with the sighting of a pod of 4-6 harbour porpoises. We heard them and saw their small cute dark bodies coming above the sea surface in the calm seas closer to the shore. After that, we found a pod of around 6 white-beaked dolphins. It was an amazing encounter, with dolphins curiously looking at us, bow riding and playing under and next to our boat. Unfortunatelly we haven't seen any bigger whale species on that tour.

Our afternoon tour started with an amazing encounter with a pod of 4-6 cute harbour porpoises. We slowed down on time not to scare them away, so they started coming toward our boat and we could watch them close by. We continued our search and soon found an area with 2 flocks of birds actively feeding. We waited and were rewarded with a sighting of 3 minke whales and one in the distance. They were busy feeding but we saw them very good while at the surface. Toward the end of our tour we spotted a dolphin jumping very high so we headed to them. It was a smaller group of very curious and playfull individuals. They were passing under us, surfing the waves toward us and bow riding.
