10:00 - Our morning trip started with cloudy skies, but the sea conditions were favorable, with just a gentle swell. After about half an hour of sailing, we spotted our first blow—a humpback whale! As we got closer, we realized there were more: another blow, then another! It was incredible to see them swimming gracefully near the boat. Suddenly, another humpback surfaced just a few meters from us, and we couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement—four humpbacks all together! As more boats began to join us, we decided it was time to head back to the harbor.

13:00 - This afternoon, the skies were still gray, with some light rain during the tour but that didn't stop us. We set out to search for the whales we spotted in the morning and just after about half an hour of sailing, we heard that another boat found the humpback whales. As we approached, we were thrilled to see 4 blows as the whales surfaced one after another—it felt like they were welcoming us back! One of the whales showed it's fluke and pectoral fin as it rolled! We then decided to explore a bit further. Just a few minutes later, we spotted another blow in the distance. This time, we found two more humpbacks moving in perfect harmony. Then we were surprised by a small pod of white-beaked dolphins leaping playfully around one of the whales. Their energetic antics prompted the humpback to roll over, proudly showing off its stunning pectoral fins! Before long, it was time to head back to the harbor. We waved goodbye to our whale and dolphin friends and continued our journey.

15:00 - Later in the afternoon, the rain finally stopped, and we set out once more to find the humpbacks. To our excitement, we spotted the same four humpback whales once more! They surfaced, showing their flukes, and even passed right under the boat. It was such an amazing sight to be all alone with them—it felt truly magical. Eager for more, we set sail again and soon found another humpback. It lifted its fluke as it dove down, and we knew it was time to start heading back to Reykjavík. But before we left, we couldn’t resist taking one last look at the humpbacks we had seen earlier. As we watched them one more time, we felt so grateful for the incredible day we’d had. What a fantastic adventure!
