Species seen: Minke whale, white-beaked dolphins

Today we headed west, southwest. He had a bit of medium-sized swell, but still pleasant ride out. After approx. 20minutes, we spotted two flocks of birds feeding. We headed to them and arrived to the area of smooth, calm sea with no wind. Perfect conditions! In few minutes, we started seeing minke whales under the excited birds. Soon we were surrounded with 5 minke whales surfacing and lunge feeding around us! We turned the engines off and enjoyed the calm sea and the sounds of the birds and minke whales breathing. On our way back, we encountered another adult minke whale. This one showed itself few times in front of us, before calmly continuing its travel. We also came across a pod of around 8 white-beaked dolphins, of which 3 new borns. They were very slowly travelling, likely sleeping. We managed to keep our distance without waking them up but still seeing them nicely. We also saw plenty of marine birds in small flocks and scattered around the area, fishing and resting at the surface. A great tour!
The ride back was a bit bumpier, since the wind increased. During the day, the wind rapidly increased even more, so unfortunatelly we had to cancel our other whale watching tours. Puffin tours are still on though!
It seems the area is full of wild life lately, so we have our fingers crossed for the wind to decrease and we can continue to go see those amazing animals.
