00 - Today the weather was just perfect. After the stop at akurey to see some atlantic puffins didn't took more than 3 minutes, 2 Humpback whales appeared just in front of the boat. Both of this animals were clearly travelling together, they were surfacing and diving at exact same time. Very relaxed at the surface making all the passengers very happy by seeing them. After spending some quality time with this animals we went to search other cetaceans, also because we don't want to disturb the animals for to long. Some white beqaked dolphins and minke whales appeared around the boat, today the bay was full of fish and because of that the cetaceans were everywhere. We saw all the 4 common species in this tour so couldn't be better.

00 - We were really excited to sail out into the bay on this beautiful day. In the completely flat water we found two minke whales that were feeding and coming close to the boat. Behind us, we spotted some white-beaked dolphins and they seemed to be as interested in us as we were in them. At first they came to inspect the boat, but then they put on even more of a show with jumps and inverted leaps all around us. We left this area and went more to the south, were we tried to find more animals. Under a huge flock of seabirds we found three minke whales that surfaced a few times around us, and before we knew it the time was already up.

00 -  Still wonderful conditions on the bay. We went to Akurey first to see some puffins and visited the bay. We took a long way toward the south crossing a pod of 2 harbour porpoises that immediately disappeared. We continued and once far out in the bay we took the north direction. We saw puffins and guillemots in the water so slowed down a bit. Then we spotted in the distance little splashes so we went there. Once in the area where we thought we saw the splashes we waited a bit to see that in the area there was a humpback whale a bit further, as well as 2 pods of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins. One of the pods looked active with a dolphin jumping and others coming right under our boat. We were observing the dolphins whern the humpback appeared among them with a loud blow! It was so nice to see the interaction with the humpback doing some little head movement among the dolphins. It went for a deep dive showing us its beautiful tail. We stayed with that humpback for a while and saw another humpback whale a bit further. Also we had a quick sight of a minke whale in the same area. We were staying with the dolphins and seeing the humpback coming back from its dives. We started heading back and crossed 2 more pods of 4-8 white beaked dolphins, and 3 more minke whales. We stopped quickly to watch two of those beautiful creatures.

00 - The weather didn't change during the day, so we still had amazing conditions to go out in the bay in search for some cetaceans life. First we stopped at akurey to see some atlantic puffins, its peak season now so its full of them. After the puffins we started the whale watching tour, a big group of 12 white beaked dolphins appeared on the left of the boat so we went to check them out, they were jumping and having a lot of fun. While checking the dolphins we spotted a blow in the distance, was a humpback whale!! This individual was doing multiple dives and another humpback whales were spotted as well around this one. In the same area were different individuals. In the distance another humpback whale was doing something different. It was tail slapping, and then rolling, pectoral fin slapping and even breached!! Almost all the behaviours were seen on this animal, the perfect way to finish the tour.

00 - This evening tour was extremely good with so many animals in the calm bay of Faxaflói. Many puffins in Akurey, probably 8 different pods of white beaked dolphins, some small with 2 individuals, some bigger with around 15 individuals. Those social toothed whales were feeding moving quickly under flocks of very active black backed gulls. We saw at least 4 humpback whales as well, they were moving a lot so not easy to approach but we could have two great sightings of them going for a beautiful fluke dive. We also spotted 4 minke whales a bit harder to observe but two of them were quite visible during the tour. In the calm seas our captain could often turn off the engines and we stayed silent listening the breathing of the multitude of dolphins around us it, waiting for the loud blow of a surfacing humpback. A unique experience.
