Species seen today: Fin whale, humpback whale, minke whale, white-beaked dolphin, harbour porpoise

Today, we finally had a sunny day when sea conditions were also great! On our morning tour, it started a bit slow with glimpses of minkes but our patience was rewarded with a humpback whale breaching 4 times! Then this afternoon, our day only got better. We went out with two boats on the 2pm tour and had an incredibly rare sighting - a fin whale!! We were able to see it quite well and watched as it was chased and annoyed by a pod of white-beaked dolphins. Such an unexpected and exciting encounter with the second largest animal in the world. Sea conditions remained excellent throughout the day and on our evening tours we saw some fantastic minke whale feeding action with large flocks of feeding kittiwakes, gulls, puffins and guillemots.
