Whale Diary

13:00 - Another successful tour! With absolutely clear skies, we left the marina with high expectations. After about 25 minutes of sail, we had our first sighting. It was a humpback whale! Everybody was ecstatic, being so lucky so fast. We stayed with it for some time, and eventually moved on, as it was going for very long dives. After a bit we found 2 more humpbacks, making a total count of 3. One of them was Davy Jones, and they regaled us with their flukes a couple of times. We also spotted around 5 minke whales.

15:00 - We started with beautiful sunshine into the tour. We had to go out for a while, before we saw the first blow and it was quite hard to see the whale, so we decided to go for another location. We were lucky! We found 2 Humpback Whales ! One of them was Davy Jones II and they were showing themselves very nicely. Their flukes and all of a sudden Davy performed a peduncle throw, not one, but 2 times !! After that they surfaced a few times again and then graced us with their flukes again. As we were running out of time, we headed back to port with happy passengers and happy crew! :)
