Today we are running a full schedule of whale and puffin watching tours!

10:00 - It's hard to imagine a more wonderful way to start the morning than being on a boat and watching whales. The first species that we encountered was a minke whale, but this individual was particularly fast and we could not follow it for long. The next individual that we encountered was a humpback whale, and this one gave us quite a show by slapping its tail on the surface multiple times! When more boats approached the area we went off in search of our 'own' humpback whale - and quickly we found the next individual. He was moving fast and unpredictably, but only diving for about a minute or two so it was easy to follow this humpback whale. We were also lucky to get many great looks at its fluke because he was surfacing so frequently, and at some point we even saw a minke whale surfacing just a few meters away from the humpback whale!

12:00 -  The weather got worse since yesterday but still was quite good compared to last week. After we see the pufffins we sailed to the midle of the bay. Some minutes passed and smell was really strong in the area, we stop the boat and 1 Minke whale appeared on the side of the boat with his beautiful fin slicing the water. Then we went really far away in the search for some humpback whales. We arrived to the spot and we were rewarded by this enormous individual. This Humpback Whale was being the soul of the party, diving less than 1 meter from the boat multiple times and appearing on all the sides of the boat, we didn]t even need to move the boat and the whale was making herself being seen. After spending some quality time with this individual we had to start to return to the harbour after a very succesfull tour.

14:00 - After a stop to watch puffins in Akurey with thousands of them flying around us, we left to explore the bay. We had to go quite far but spotted a blow from a humpback whale. The animal was going for dives a bit difficult to read, surfacing in here and there with quite long dives in the middle. We spotted a minke whale in the same area and try to see it from a bit closer when the humpback decided to breach! The sounds was really loud when the gigantic animal fell on the water. The it did a strange move like a reverse spy-hop with one pectoral fin outside of the water like waving at us. Then it started going for long dives again. We moved to another area and spotted a humpback whales resting, moving slowly and we could see this peacefull individual for a little while. Further out behind the whale we spotted 3-4 fins from white-beaked dolphins. But we had no more time and started heading back to the harbour.

Crew: Captain Reynar & Guide Miquel

16:00 - The weather got much worse during the day, the wind was blowing much harder this afternoon. After the stop in akurey to see some puffins, the search for the cetaceans really started. Again like the tour in the morning there was always a very present semll in the area, wich probably means minke whales! We spotted some during the tour but very briefly, and only some people spotted them unfortunately. The waves created by the wind were making everything more difficult. After the minkes we went to a area were we spotted a humpback whale in the morning, but this individual was not there anymore. After spending some time searching for this whale 2 white beaked dolphins appeared for some minutes. After the dolphins we had to start to head back to the harbour, and decided to give the clients complimmentary tickets for them to join another tour with us.
