10:00 - We left the harbour under a perfect blue and sunny sky. We had a first stop at Akurey to see the Atlantic puffins that started gathering there for their breeding season. They were many flying around us, in the water and on the island. Two even jumped on the rocks a bit closer to us and a clumsy one almost fell down in the water. After such a pleasant start we went out to find larger animals and we did quite easily. First a lonely humpback whale, then a pair and then a trio! The highlight was probably when two humpback whales came close to the front of our vessel and went for a synchronized fluke dive.

14:00 - The weather was still perfect for whale-watching with a nice sun and not too much wind. We went to Akurey to watch the lovely puffins. It seems that every time, every day the island is more crowded of those red beaks. After seeing them flying around jumping on rocks for a while we went in the direction of the good sightings we had this morning. We crossed 3-4 harbour porpoises that appeared close to our boat. We stopped and looked around to see them reappear a few minutes later a bit further away. We let those shy cetacean to go look further out if we were spotting something larger. We found a first humpback whale that was closer to land than earlier. We saw it go for a couple of fluke dives. The animal was staying quite long under the surface so we decided to go further. On the way we spotted another one but we thought that going further out we could find more so we went there and found 2 more humpbacks. We followed one that seem fairly large with a slow and amazing fluke dive. The other one was a bit harder to find and we could only see it from the distance. We went back home under the sunshine.
