10:00 - We had a beautiful day out there, sunny sky, and no swell, so every condition was perfect for a nice time at sea. We wandered to the middle of Faxaflói and 20 minutes into the search we saw a few splashes together with a bigger fin! Not too long after we had confirmation, it was a minke whale together with a pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins! They were feeding and traveling along and they looked a bit shy, so we carried on with the search of the bay. After 10 minutes we stumbled upon a big blow in the distance, as we got closer I began to smile because it was a bigger whale than before, it was a HUMPBACK WHALE!! It was doing a weird behavior, skimming, something that we don't see very often with this species and then it was going for a dive every 7 minutes. It was with another pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins that were jumping together as the whale kept doing fluke dives for that nice picture that we so much wanted. While we waited for the humpback to come back up we could see other blows from 3 other minke whales but we kept waiting for our giant to come back. We stayed a little longer and after a really nice fluke dive, we had to go home as our time was over. An amazing tour on an amazing day!!

14:00 - The wind picked up a little bit more but nothing too bad, the sun was still shining and the waves were calm, good conditions for a nice afternoon on the water! We started our journey and after about half an hour, we saw a few spouts and splashes made by a pod of 5 to 6 white-beaked dolphins that were very gentle while passing at touching distance from us, it looked like they were the ones doing human-watching! We stayed a little bit with them until they were gone. We continued our search and after another half an hour, we saw another type of dorsal fin, a minke whale! This one was a bit more shy but we could see it very nicely although it was gone very soon. Oh well, can't be lucky every time! The wind started to make white caps on the waves and so our time was over. A good day out there in the bay.
