Species seen today: Humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins.

10:00 - It was a windy morning but the waves where short and low so it was nice to just motor over them with ease. We went a little more to south than the other boats and found a fun couple of white-beaked dolphins. They were busy feeding but we were able to follow them quite easily. After a while we left them in search for whales and soon saw two big blows, humpback whale!. Once again it was out buddies Mariupol and Neila, just super relaxed, travelling slowly and coming up often. On our way home we encountered another pod of 3-5 white-beaked dolphins and a very fast glimpse of a minke whale. A fantastic morning tour.

14:00 - The sea conditions were getting better and better. We knew that most the boats would have headed straight to the humpback whales on this tour so we motored more to the north in search of wildlife and then head to the humpbacks when there were less boat traffic. However, the humpbacks had moved about 0.6miles from their last position and we and another whale watching vessel found them whilst the others were looking at white-beaked dolphins. Once the word got out the other boats came over to see the amazing duo (Mariopol and Neila) and we left in search of those white-beaked dolphins. We found them to the south, a busy pod feeding but inbetween bowrode our boat for a while. After a nice time with the dolphins we went back to the two humpback whales after the larger vessels had to return to port. We were even on our own with them for a little while which is always our favourite time with these incredible majestic creatures.

16:00 - One of our favourite times of the day to be out on the bay, when there is less whale watching vessels about. We were able to open an extra departure due to the good weather and sea conditions and knowing the next day would be cancelled, so we tried our best to move the passangers booked for tomorrow to today.
We were on our way to where the humpbacks were last seen but on the way a pod of very playful white-beaked dolphins caught our attention and led us to a rich area with feeding birds and 3-5 minke whales, including one of our buddies a minke whale names Humpie that we have known since 2011. We needed to get to the humpbacks though as we were worried they may have moved too far from the last position. Once in the area it did take us a little while to find them as they did indeed move about 0.5miles from their last location, but the eagle eyes of the guide Eline we found them and they were still very chilled, surfacing for about 2-3 minutes and then taking 4-6minute dives. Showing their beautiful tails as they did. We were so lucky at one point to have them surfacing just a couple of meters from us after one of their long dives. On the way home we checked out the minke whale area again and saw once more 3-4 minkes and our favourite minke whale humpie once more.
