Description
The BEST of Reykjavík this winter - 5 tours in an action-packed day!
Experience the very best of Reykjavík this winter with an unforgettable 13-hour day tour! This curated itinerary blends adventure, culture, and natural beauty, taking you to Reykjavík’s most iconic attractions. While the tours themselves are arranged for you, this is a self-guided excursion between the activities, giving you the freedom to explore Reykjavík’s charming streets. Each destination is within a maximum 20-minute walk from the next, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey. Here’s what your day looks like:
Lava Show – 10:00
Start your day with the world’s only live Lava Show! Witness molten lava flowing before your eyes in this thrilling, educational experience. Arrive by 09:45 to check in for the hour-long show. Afterward, it’s time to head over to FlyOver Iceland for your next adventure!
FlyOver Iceland – 11:30
Prepare to soar over Iceland’s most stunning landscapes with FlyOver Iceland, an immersive simulation that will take your breath away. The show starts at 11:30, so be sure to arrive by 11:15. After this awe-inspiring 30-minute journey, enjoy some free time to grab a quick bite before walking to your next stop: the Old Harbour for a whale-watching excursion!
Classic Whale Watching – 13:00
Head to the Elding Ticket Office at the Old Harbour, about a 20-minute walk from FlyOver Iceland, to collect your ticket by 12:45. Then, board the boat for a 2.5–3.5-hour adventure in search of whales, dolphins, and other marine life. With onboard refreshments available for purchase, warm indoor seating, and expert guidance, this is a must-do experience. In the event that we don't encounter any whales or dolphins, we do not offer refunds, but instead give our passengers a complimentary ticket to use another day. Return to shore around 16:00 and take a short 10-minute walk to Harpa Concert Hall for your food tour!
Reykjavík Food Walk – 17:00
Savor Icelandic cuisine on a guided Food Walk, starting at Harpa Concert Hall. Meet your guide at 16:45 by the main entrance (look for the blue backpack!) and embark on a 3-hour culinary adventure. From Icelandic classics to local delicacies, this food tour is a feast for the senses. The walk finishes near the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church at 20:00.
Northern Lights Cruise – 21:00
End your day with a magical Northern Lights Cruise. Make your way back to the Elding Ticket Office by 20:45 to pick up your tickets and board the boat. This enchanting 1.5–2.5-hour journey will take you under the night sky in search of the breathtaking Aurora Borealis. While Reykjavík offers the ideal conditions for aurora viewing from September to April, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and are therefore unpredictable. If there are none seen on your tour, you will be offered a complimentary return ticket. The tour concludes between 22:30 and 23:30 - you can arrange for a hotel drop-off after the tour with Elding for an additional cost of 1.750 ISK per person - book & pay at the ticket office before departing for the cruise!
